Downtown Toronto Wedding | Toronto Wedding Photographer, Halifax Wedding Photographer

M & J had their downtown Toronto wedding last year at 99 Sudbury. 99 Sudbury is a modern, loft-like wedding venue in the Queen West area. The space has both industrial brick walls and white modern walls acting as a blank canvas for a couple's wedding. M and J started the morning hanging about with their wedding party at their condo and at the Gladstone Hotel. The Gladstone Hotel was a perfect space for getting ready for their wedding, going with their modern, chic vibe. The hotel had a roof top patio space for them to do their first looks. Overlooking the city and the CN Tower, M had an emotional first look with her father (everyone should do one!) and a heartwarming one with J.

Their urban wedding had the most chic details including M's unique wedding dress that she converted mid-day and her stunning bridesmaids black low-back jumpsuits. My favourite touch though was the chuppah they used for their wedding ceremony. The chuppah was made from lace from her grandmother's wedding dress. I love it when couples include special touches to their wedding! It makes the day so much more meaningful than it already is and of course, just reduces me to complete mush.

At Home Intimate Couples Session | Halifax Wedding Photographer, Toronto Wedding Photographer

Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy and creativity. It is the source of hope, empathy, accountability and authenticity. If we want greater clarity in our purpose or deeper and more meaningful spiritual lives, vulnerability is the path.

Being a wedding photographer has opened my eyes to many things but most importantly, it has opened my heart more than anything. My heart is renewed over and over again, every single wedding, every single couples shoot. Being a photographer allows me to step into the intimate parts of people's lives and my clients have countlessly allowed themselves to be vulnerable, whether it has been a year that we've known each other or a mere few weeks.

This is L and C and this is the home they've created for themselves for the past few years. Both transplants from Ontario, they both now have built a life in Halifax, Nova Scotia along with their sweet cat and dog! They spent the afternoon in some loving cuddles, and wrote love notes to each other. There may have been some tears but more love and laughter than anything. They used this at-home couples session to document their love in their home that they will be moving from in a few short months. Sometimes we don't need an occasion to get photos taken. Sometimes the memories captured for years and years to come is enough..
