Toronto Surprise Proposal - Engagement | Al & Mara | Toronto - Halifax Wedding Photographer
On this mild fall day, I had the honour of photographing a surprise proposal. I first met up with Al to discuss details and where we should have the proposal and from our conversation, as we were walking around the marina, I could tell how much he loved and cared for Mara. We knew we had found the perfect spot when he mentioned how meaningful it would be if we could go closer to the water as she had grown up by the ocean. It was so beautiful in the way he mentioned how 'Mara' meant 'sea' in Gaelic.
No one can describe the day better than Mara herself.
"On October 15th, Al sent me on an eight hour scavenger hunt. At each location, I was surprised to find a very close and very important friend in my life. The hunt finally led me to Al. He was standing at the edge of Lake Ontario in Scarborough Bluffs, the same place we went on one of our first dates. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the sweetest and most thoughtful proposal I could ever imagine."
