Industrial Cozy Wedding at Storys Building | Toronto, Kingston, Ottawa Wedding Photographer

One of the perks of working in Toronto as a wedding photographer is the variety of venues I get to encounter and experience. It was definitely a plus when I was planning my wedding – knowing which ones I liked and didn’t like prior to getting overwhelmed with such a big first task. Although we ended up getting married at a venue I had never visited or photographed at before, I did learn a thing or two about the kind of spaces I like! And mind you, we got married in a forest, but a place like the Story’s Building downtown toronto as a wedding venue is definitely something I would’ve considered. I love everything about it. It’s chic, industrial, cozy and intimate. The building brings in a lot of light, which you can see in lots of the photos below (like seriously streams of DREAMY light) and is central to everything. Most people decide to host their wedding ceremony, cocktail and reception here which is perfect!

S & M had the most stunning wedding and I’m sure they could not have asked for a better day. To start, they decided to do a first look and with the Storys Building being so photogenic, we didn’t even have to step outside the building for this. One of my favourite parts of any wedding day.

Remember when I mentioned the perfect light that comes in through the windows of this building? It seriously could not have been timed more perfectly that there were beams of light shining through the front window where they got married. Paired with the greenery and candles, it was all sorts of magic. It didn’t stop there as the sun kept setting in the right direction to bring warm beams of light as the dinner took place.

I absolutely loved how S & M decided on decorating their reception space. They had long tables with flowery garlands and lots of assortment of candles. Candle lights are such a key addition to a reception table. It can completely change the vibe and creates the most romantic glow that just softens everything in sight <3 Brides and grooms – if you’re ever on the fence of whether or not to have candles or no – the answer is always yes and many candles!!

S’s dress by A la Robe (Juliette) from Loversland was another highlight for me. It was simple, classic and timeless. She popped on the coolest cape blazer in the evening and it was the perfect pairing! I always love stepping out as the sun is setting – and even though at this point there was not golden beams of light shining through the buildings, the soft dusk light was perfect as well. Hope you enjoy!
